Looking for new ways to learn, network and kickstart ideas with change-oriented librarians? So are we.

Join a group of next-generation practitioners for our second annual low-cost/high-impact gathering that encourages collaboration and sharing among the field’s brightest and most innovative librarians and library practitioners.

We're excited to announce our 2016 theme: Adopt, Adapt, Evolve: Reinvigorating & Rejuvenating Our Libraries.

Increasingly libraries are hubs where new technologies and ideas are incubated and incorporated into common practice. We adopt new tech, adapt new tools for use by our organizations and our patrons, and are constantly evolving to better serve users and become more empowered keepers of our cultural records. From eBooks to social media, 3-D printing to big data, libraries evolve through adopting the new and adapting both new and old tools for innovative and creative uses.

We invite session proposals that explore this evolution of libraries and librarians through conversations, hands-on workshops, skill-building sessions, and other interactive forms. Proposals may engage with a number of related topics and questions, including but not limited to:

  • What technologies, resources, or services are on the horizon for libraries and librarians?
  • What are the skills necessary for librarians to continue keeping up with emerging trends?
  • What are ways you have worked collectively or individually to reinvigorate and rejuvenate your library?
  • In what ways does your library adopt, adapt, and evolve to meet user needs?
  • What barriers do you encounter in your work? How might these be overcome with help from partners, such as vendors, technologists, or stakeholders?

Our unique “Session Picker” is now open for proposal submissions and public voting/comment. Submit your ideas and vote on sessions you’d like to see until August 5th!
